"Hatchback" shoe offers better fit for foot orthotics

Amtryke Therapeutic Tricycle:  Your child may be eligible to receive a therapeutic tricycle through the AMBUCS Amtryke program.  AMBUCS chapters across the country raise funds to provide the trykes to children with disabilities free of charge.

Wisconsin Lifeline ProgramIf your child is a Medicaid/Medical Assistance recipient, or if your family qualifies for low income assistance such as Food Stamps, you may be eligible to receive a discount on your monthly phone bill through SBC's Lifeline Program. Contact the Lifeline Program at 800-440-9853 for more information.

MedicAlert:  If your child is a Medicaid recipient, you may be eligible for a sponsored membership with MedicAlert that includes a MedicAlert emblem bracelet.  Sponsored memberships require a letter from your physician and a copy of your child's Medicaid (Forward) card.  For more information, contact MedicAlert at 800-432-5378.

Katy's Kloset:  Katy's Kloset is an Equipment Lending Library located in Pewaukee, WI.  Typical items available include durable medical equipment such as walkers, bath chairs, standers, wheelchairs and scooters.  Equipment is loaned for as long as it is needed.  For more information, call 262-746-9034 or email teamup@teamupwf.org.

WIC Program:  If your child is under age 5 and is a Medicaid recipient, he or she may be eligible to participate in the Wisconsin WIC Program to receive monthly vouchers for items such as milk, eggs, juice, and fruits/vegetables at Farmer's Markets (in season).  For more information, contact your local WIC clinic.

Collis Curve Toothbrush:  This innovative toothbrush can help make toothbrushing easier and more effective for individuals with special needs.

Special Needs Family Center:  The Southeastern Regional Children With Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Center is one of five Regional CSHCN Centers in the state of Wisconsin funded by the WI Department of Health and Family Services, Division of Public Health, CSHCN Program, MCH Title V Services Block grant.  The Center is located in the lobby of the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa, and is staffed by parents of children with special healthcare needs Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm.  For more information, call 800-234-KIDS or visit their website.

AbleTrek Tours:  AbleTrek Tours, located in Reedsburg, WI offers bus tours and more all over the US for individuals with mild to moderate disabilities, the elderly, persons with mental illness, and others.  Travelers must exhibit good social behavior, have no major medical concerns, be at least 16 years old and display appropriate behavior toward property, themselves and others.  The staff to traveler ratio is 1:3 or 1:4.  For more information, call 800-205-6713.

Betty Brinn Children's Museum Free Membership:  The Betty Brinn Children's Museum, located in Milwaukee, offers free memberships to families who have a child with a disability.  The museum has loads of hands-on exhibits and special events geared toward children 10 and under.  For more information, contact Lisa Balster, Early Childhood Education Manager, at 414-390-5437, ext. 271.
 

MedicAlert E-Health KEY

Angel Flight America provides access for people in need seeking free air transportation to specialized health care facilities or distant destinations due to family, community or national crisis.
